Star Touring & Riding #180 Feed The Children Run

The Star Touring Louisville Chapter constantly does fund raising for the Feed The Children Charity Foundation. Once they get to a certain level Feed The Children delivers a Semi load with 24 pallets and 1088 cases of Personal Products, Food Staples and Water to be distributed. This year by The United Covenant Church, this distribution will cover 20 Parishes, helping lots of families in need.

We had chapters from Tennessee and other parts of Kentucky along with other groups join us for this wonderful event.

As Founder of this group, but admittedly not very active anymore. I am very proud of what has grown out of my early efforts, the guys & gals did a marvelous job pulling this together. We had a full Police escort for the whole ride blocking intersection and expressway ramps we didn't put our feet down the whole ride.

I shot this run and gun from the bike, and gave a quick 1st draft edit as everyone has been asking about it. I want to try and capture the giving spirit, fellowship and fun of this event.

Shot with a Canon XH-A1, a GoPro Hero HD Camera and edited in Sony Vegas 9.

The song "Stand By Me - Around The World" is from one of the most remarkable video projects I have ever seen "Playing For Change"

If you have not seen this you must, it is one moving experience and so well done. See the video here.

Highlight Reel 2010 KY Humane Society Poker Society

This is my tribute/highlight reel of the 1st Annual Two Wheels Four Paws Motorcycle Poker Run. Put on by the the folks that do such great work at the Kentucky Humane Society.

This was a new fund and awareness raising event. We had beautiful weather although it was Very hot. I shot a fair amount of riding footage but it was so warm it fogged up the inside of my mount for the GoPro HD and I was only able to use a little bit of that footage. So luckily I had packed the XH-A1 on the bike and this is what I shot.

They had a great turn out and this looks like it will be a smashing success in years to come. Thanks to all that came and participated, theirs is an important mission.

New GoPro Test - Father's Day Ride Captured

I unfortunately had to travel for business this year on Father's day, so Carson had the great idea the day before that her and I should take a bike ride and have a yummy dinner and desert, so this is just what we did. She also gave me a lovely note that made me so glad to be her Step-father, so a special day indeed!

So another chance to play with the new Go-Pro HD hero camera.

So pop her full screen and take a ride with us!

Bonjinn - Pituful

Bonejinn rocking Pitiful

Make sure and have some good speakers and crank it up!

One of my favorite Louisville Bands. Although this one has been on the back burner for awhile and the band has gone through some transitions since, it still rocked so good I had to go ahead and finish it! This is for my friend Marty C Triplett one of the best rock vocalist in town. Anyway hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Background:
Shot this by myself with the following;
Static Camera - Canon HV30
Roving Camera - Canon XHA1
Audio - Zoom H4n and two Samson Co2 Condenser Mics strategically placed.
(Real pleased with my audio outcome on this one!)

GoPro HD Hero out of the Box Test (Very Impressive)

I excitedly got my new GoPro HD camera today, and seeing it was a beautiful 80 degree spring day I thought what better first test than to strap it on the motorcycle and take a ride to go visit my daughter and grandbabies out in the country. So I strapped in various posiitions on the bike as I made my Journey.
Shot in 720 30p mode, there is no color correction I just crushed the blacks a slight bit, so this is pretty much straight out of the camera.
This little camera is amazing!
Edited in Sony Vegas Pro 9, music is Pantera's Cowboys from Hell.

30 Second Oxmoor Country TV Commerical

This is a 30 second commercial spot I produced, shot and edited for Oxmoor Country club to be run on WHAS television in the Louisville, KY market.

No professional talent used, all are actual club members and I think they all did great!

All interviews were shot 1920X1080 24p with the new Canon VDSLR T2i, using a Tamron 55-200 lens and black Muslin backdrop with two 650W Smith Victor lights for Key and Fill and 126 LED back/Hair Light. All B-Roll was shot with Canon XH-A1.

Audio was captured using a Zoom H4n and two external Samson Co2 matched mics in 4 track mode, then mixed refined and rendered as 48/24 WAV files. Score is from Sony Cinescore.

All edits and color corrections done in Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 64bit with help from the AVV color lab plug-in.

1DMKIV Rebel video Nocturne is back online

From Matthew Jepsen's great blog feed.

Some months ago, Stu Maschwitz, David Nelson, and Vincent LaForet, and a small group of DV Rebels shot a proof-of-concept short film on a pre-production Canon 1DMKIV DSLR. Shortly following it’s release online, it was pulled (presumably at the request of Canon). Well, apparently Canon is ready to show it off again, as Nocturne is now back online. Vincent’s blog has details and watch links. There’s also a short behind the scenes clip.
